Alyssa Alfinito | Graduate Assistant & Writing Center Manager
Alyssa (she/her) received her B.S. in Clinical Psychology at Kutztown University in May 2019. She is now pursuing a Master of Education in Student Affairs at Kutztown University. Her specialties include APA format, research, organization, and brainstorming. She currently runs a side reselling business on multiple platforms and is working on a person poetry novel to publish in the future. When she is not working as a graduate assistant or in classes, she enjoys playing guitar, freelance photography, watching Netflix, and traveling on road trips.
Keegan Oscavich | Graduate Assistant
Keegan (he/him) received his B.S. in Professional Writing at Kutztown University in 2019. He is now pursuing his Master of Arts in English at Kutztown. Although he is willing to assist with various aspects of the writing process, his specialties include MLA format, brainstorming, idea organization, and article research. When he’s not in the writing lab or working on coursework, you can usually find Keegan behind his PC playing a video game or spending time with his three cats, Nyx, Luna, and Thor.
Melissa Stough | Graduate Assistant/ Research Assistant
Melissa (they/them) received their B.A. in English with minors in sociology & women’s, gender, and sexuality studies in December 2021. They are now pursuing their Master of Education in Student Affairs at Kutztown University. They spend their time researching ways to improve the student experience and finding new ways to elevate student funding through their role in the Kutztown University Foundation. They love knitting, reading, and riding bikes around trails. They specialize in APA, MLA, conference presentations, research proposals, and Institutional Review Board related materials.
Josh Tonkay | Graduate Assistant
Josh (he/him) received his BA with a double major in English Literature and Theatre from Lehigh University in 2009. After a brief hiatus, he returned to Lehigh for graduate studies in English Literature and Social Justice where he worked as a Teaching Fellow for First-Year Writing. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling. Josh specializes in using MLA and APA formatting, conducting research, and crafting strong and nuanced thesis statements. He loves energetic and descriptive language. In his free time, he enjoys cooking (and eating!), making terrible dice rolls while playing tabletop games, and trying his best to keep up with an endlessly energetic doggo.
Eva Labram | Writing Center Tutor
Eva (she/her) is in her final year as a Professional Writing major with minors in Literature, Public Relations, and Women, Sexuality, and Gender studies. She’s also pursuing her certification in Technical Writing. She loves how words can open up new worlds and writes as often as she can. Her strengths lay in APA and MLA formatting, research, editing, and structure; however, she’s willing to help with anything! When she’s not doing schoolwork, you can find her crocheting, taking nature pictures, hanging out with her dog, traveling, or writing.
Emma Streb | Writing Center Tutor
Emma (she/her) is a double major in Political Science and History. She’s a member of KU’s Model UN and enjoys traveling for different conferences. Her specialties include: Chicago, APA, organization, and stylistic choices. When she’s not working on schoolwork, she can be found scribbling in her notebook, watering her plants, or planning her next tattoo.
Megan Flanagan | Writing Center Tutor
Megan (she/her) is a Senior English major with a double minor in Professional Writing and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. She is involved in the English Club and the Honors Program. Her specialities include: MLA, organization, and brainstorming, but she is happy to help at any stage in the writing process. In her free time she loves going to concerts and working on creative projects like bullet journaling and photography.
Jack Schembri | Writing Center Tutor
Jack (he/him) is a sophomore at Kutztown University. He is currently double majoring in English and Psychology with minors in professional writing and women’s gender sexuality studies. Jack is originally from a small town in Pennsylvania called Harleysville. He loves helping in any stage of the writing process, especially brainstorming and forming structure. Jack is a huge fan of horror films and novels and also loves to bake.
Grace Heinlein | Writing Center Tutor
Grace (she/her) is a Commercial Music major and hopes to pursue a second degree in English. She is a member of the HerCampus online magazine and the Shoofly Literary Magazine. Her specialties include: MLA, grammar, and structure. When she isn’t practicing for her music classes, she loves to read, craft with friends, and enjoy a good TV show binge. She can’t wait to work with the incoming writers and their pieces!
Emaleigh Greb | Writing Center Tutor
Emaleigh (she/her) is a Secondary Ed. English major with strong ties to the CTM major. She is also involved in the Honors Program, Film Club, and Ultimate Frisbee. She considers her specialties to be grammar, organization, and brainstorming but is always willing to help with anything! In her free time, she can be found creating various forms of art or spending time with friends.
Emily Traub | Writing Center Tutor
Emily (she/her) is a junior majoring in Applied Digital Arts with a minor in CTM. Her specialties are in outlining, grammar, and creative writing. During her free time she enjoys drawing, watching YouTube, and playing video games. Look outside when a thunderstorm is on its way – there’s a good chance she’ll be out taking pictures of the clouds!
Dr. Patricia Pytleski | Director of the Writing Center
Dr. Pytleski (she/her) teaches Effective Composition (CMP 100), Teaching of Writing (ENU 405), Methods of Teaching Secondary School Subjects: English (SEU 321/425), and Secondary English Education Practicum (SEU 390/391) at Kutztown University. Additionally, she mentors, supervises, and observes English Secondary Education student teachers during their middle and high school placements in middle and high schools. She received her BA in English Education at the University of Delaware in January 1998, her MA in English from Kutztown University in January 2001, and her Ph.D. in Composition and Rhetoric at Lehigh University in May 2008. While at Kutztown, she worked as a graduate assistant tutor in this same University Writing Center! She has been teaching at KU since Fall of 2007. In her spare time, Dr. P likes to read, travel, and spend time with her family, friends, and pets.
